Also I was lacking in the required fruits and vegetables intake considerably. After evaluating my diet, I planned to make some changes to improve these intake levels, so that my body could receive the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and alive. A few steps that I took to make these changes in my diet was first documenting what I eat daily and also adding the recommended amounts from each food group into my daily meals. I accomplished this by measuring out my servings, and by adding a more variety and nutrient dense meal plan. Some examples would include a variety of fruits during breakfast to increase my fruit intake, a variety of nutrient-dense vegetables during dinner time to increase my vegetable intake. And to increase my milk intake I chose to add more milk products in my diet to acquire three total cups daily, these types of foods would include cheese, yogurts, and milk. Another few changes I made in my diet were drinking more water during meals to increase my diets water intake and decrease my diets sugar intake. Another change to my diet resulted from increasing my milk intake, vegetable intake, and fruit intake is an increase in calcium and other nutrients and minerals needed to keep my body functioning healthy. For example, accordingly the the pyramid tracker website, has shown a significant increase…

However, like any poor graduate student, I did not have the funds to eat the healthiest, but I always tried. Keeping up with exercising was not the issue, but eating enough and healthy has become harder. With that being said, I was not surprised with my food journal. On my first journal entry, it revealed that I was not eating enough carbs, fat, protein, sodium, sugar, thus a low-calorie intake. Again, not a lot of funds. During my second day, I had too much sodium and fat intake, but still had 205 calories left. On the weekends, I love eating eggs and turkey bacon whether it is for breakfast or dinner, because it is cheap and easy to make. For my third journal entry, I had a high fat and protein intake, but I knew that was expected because I had 2 bowls of Korean Beef and Turnip soup for dinner (for some reason, I was super hungry – it may be due to studying too much?). Anyways, my nutrition diet journal is of no surprise to me. I knew I either ate too little or did not have the most balanced diet. However, I continue to keep up with exercising, which has become my new outlet. I know I still need to find that right balance, but I am hoping that once I graduate and I have a steady paycheck it will make it easier to afford a healthier diet!…

Healthy Eating Plan By: Fantisa Starr November 2, 2008 I have written a healthy eating plan so I can live a healthier life. I recently did a three day diet analysis and based on the information from the food pyramid my eating habits are not very healthy. My daily diet is lacking fruits and vegetables from the pyramid and based on it I need fruits and vegetables to maintain a healthy diet. There are 40 different essential nutrients that a person needs to stay healthy. Because the foods I eat vary from day to day, the amounts and types of nutrients I consume vary each day. Having too much or too little can cause serious symptoms when my intake is less than my needs, I could suffer from under nutrition. The symptoms the symptoms can vary depending on which nutrient is lacking from my body. Vitamin A is needed for vision and Vitamin D is needed for strong bones. The degree of the deficiency also determines the symptoms. I plan to start eating healthy daily by using the Food Guide Pyramid to help me get all the correct foods daily, planning for a healthy diet that meets nutrient requirements and recommendations for health promotion and disease prevention. This pyramid consists of the following foods and serving I should have each day: Fats, oils, and sweets- use sparingly Milk, yogurt, and cheese- 2 to 3 servings Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, nuts, eggs- 2 to 3 servings Vegetables 3 to 5 servings Fruits 2 to 3 servings Grains, bread, cereal, rice, pasta- 6-11servings The amount of servings I need per day will be based on my daily activities and special needs. I am going to make this diet a healthy yet, interesting and enjoyable one; by experimenting with new foods and combinations, trying healthy diet recipes from magazines like using chickpeas, or black beans in a salad for lunch or dinner to get it a different taste, trying something new for breakfast, eating exotic fruits, low-fat yogurt and a spoonful of wheat germ, making…

I eat more complete proteins but really lack the incomplete this is important to know because there needs to be a good balance between the two one shouldn’t be too far away from the other not being this way could cause some serious health issues high cholesterol obesity and even death. I was very surprised by my numbers I received because I’ve never really thought about what I ate until now my carbohydrates protein and lipids intake was almost double what it should be to fix this problem I would have to cut out a lot of fast food and drink plenty more water and let go of some of the snacks I eat and replace them with a fruit or something a lot more healthy than my usually choices.…
