Charlie Monologue
Once upon a time there was an ordinary boy named Oliver. He had thick black hair with light pale skin. One hot summer day in july, he decided to take a break from watching tv and went outside to play ball in the park. He played for hours, Kicking the ball and throwing it. One of the times while he was kicking the ball, He did it so hard that it went way out of his sight. He hurried over in the direction that the ball went. He couldn’t find it anywhere. Than he realize that the only other place that it could be is inside the stone built well. He carefully peered over the rim of the well and there it was. The well went extremely far down but he really wanted the ball. He decided he was going to gently climb down the well, get his ball, and quickly …show more content…
There is only one way that I will turn you back to human.” Explained Charlie
“What, what do I have to do?”
“You would have to win a battle between you and me. But you could never beat me so you wouldn’t have a very good chance.” Gloated Charlie.
Charlie then explained the rules of the battle
“We will have to play a round of soccer with your ball. Whoever gets to 5 points first will be the winner. If you win I will give you back your ball, Turn you back into a human, and get you out of the well. But if I win, You will have to stay here with me forever.”
Oliver was very nervous. He wanted to go back home so bad, so he knew he couldn't lose.
“So, do you want to battle or just give up and stay here?” Asked Charlie.
“Battle” Oliver announced
They started to get ready for the game. They got the ball and found rocks to mark the two goals. Charlie thought that Oliver didn't even have a chance at winning because he was small and thin and he didn’t look like he played any sports. They soon started battle. They kicked, they blocked, they scored. Eventually it started to look like Charlie was the one who didn't have a shot at winning. Before they knew it, Oliver had already scored the fifth point. Charlie was Shocked! He didn't think that such a small weak kid like him could win against a tough big one like

There once was a noble young man who was renowned for his awe-inspiring abilities in the goal box. He laughed in the face of evil and smiled with mirth when given any challenge. Any challenge, but one. The fated Penalty Kick is one of the toughest things to save from going in the goal. You see, this young man's name was Sir Stephen the Red and he was the goalkeeper for his kingdom of Nolnia. All the citizens throughout the land knew him to be the greatest goalkeeper to have ever lived but, in the depths of Stephen's heart, he constantly quelled his terror at failing on a PK. However, Stephen still knew that he was the greatest at goalkeeping in all the land so he shirked the fear on his heart and continued as though all was well. During a rainy training session a few weeks later, an unknown player showed up to practice and announced himself as Sir Strikes-a-lot The Wicked. Now Stephen wasn't one to be impressed by smack talk, but the player walked straight over to the team and said he would let somebody attempt to humiliate him by shooting a Penalty Kick against him in front of the whole team. Taken aback, Stephen asked what the man's terms were. The man replied with the counter that he would be allowed to shoot a PK exactly one year after if Sir Stephen missed. Stephen laughed and immediately took him up on the challenge since he reckoned that if anyone were to stand a chance against the Wicked man's shot it would be him. Granted that he had to miss first, which simply wasn't an option.…

The teams were Justin and Bobby against me, Tyler, and Paul. This game always ended in defeat for my team, partly because we were inferior at throwing, and partly because Justin and Bobby would shove rocks into their dirt clods. At night, we would run inside, eat something, and run downstairs to play, “War in the Dark.” This was just pure chaos. The rules went as follows: every ball in the house would be dumped in the basement, the lights would be turned off, and we would throw balls at each other until we were too tired to continue. We would finish the night by turning on Bobby’s favorite movie, Gettysburg, and drift off to sleep. After successfully defending the Union’s position, General Buford triumphantly declares, “General Reynolds, we’ve held the high ground.” (Maxwell). This line may seem insignificant, but still to this day, after any small success, we’ll turn to each and say, “General Reynolds, we’ve held the high…
