Charlette: A Short Story
Prolugue I'm Charlette, but most people call me Charle. This is my story. The story about a girl, just a girl. No magically fairies or wizards, no queens or kings and nothing different from the world you live in now, yet some people might find this fassinating for reasons unknown. I'm a normal girl, well as normal as a 14 year old girl gets. My brown eyes and brown hair blend with a crowd and my average height and weight don't stand out. I don't really work to hard with my grades, so they are mostly average, except math I'm a 9th grader in the 11th grade class. I'm not popular, except in the Film Club and in Marching Band. The only thing that could make me stand out is my synesthesia, which is where you can see senses that aren't sight. …show more content…
Aren't people just annoying, what kind of plaesure can they get from slamming someone against a locker. We are all trying to get to class, they don't have to be so pushy. Thank god its the last period of the day. Two more month of school after today, I can do this.' I think while walking into my Algebra 2 class. I sit in my normal spot, in the far back corner next to the window. I like the sun and looking at the tree outside when I think. It takes me only a few seconds to register that there is a boy sitting on the right side of me, but it takes me a minute to realize that no one ever sits near me. I just deside that its another new student that doesn't like the front of the room either. The only thing I register thats kind of off about him is that he is wearing sunglasses, but I just keep doodling, its not odd for knew students to show up, just this late in the school year it is. Right when I finish the doodle of the skull biting the rose the teacher calls roll. I don't pay attention until I hear my name. "Charle" Mrs. Shima calls out
" Uh ya, here." I say and she continues calling out names. Once she stops she says
" Ok class, so theres a new student here today, could you please come up here and tell us a little about yourself Wilfred." The class snickers at his

Charlotte Johnston been sitting at a black top table surrounded by a group of chatty students her own age. And hadn't been paying much attention to what the teacher was saying, because everything zoned out, besides appearances and movements. Mr. Hube was wearing a bright purple sweater with tan khakis, and was extra fidgety. Something got him all hot and bothered, and it was obvious. His pale blue eyes glanced the room, and the pauses, he worried his lower lip, driving Charlotte crazy, that his outfit choice was bold for a teacher and that he appeared nervous to speak in front of his own class.…

This sparks overlapping laughter and noise from the rest of the class. Connor takes it personal and uses colloquial/slang language ‘yeah’ and ‘man’ in his response and further insults Starkey who uses courtesy items in response “Yes // now// right in an attempt to change the conversation from informal back to formal and overlaps and repeats by stuttering nervously ‘this is, this is, this is” and “persona, persona”…

The family benefits from Lina’s mother’s calmness by not having to worry as much. They were able to stay calm and pack up their belongings. Their mother’s calmness also prevents them from becoming scared. They did what the officers told them instead of rebelling. Yes, I consider Lina’s mother breaking the dishes an act of rebellion. She knew what they were going to do with the dishes if she did not break them. She loved her dishes and didn’t want the Nazi’s to use, sell, or profit from them. In my opinion, her reaction is appropriate. The Nazi’s did nothing to earn those items. She had the right to do break the dishes because they were coming to take away her and her family. She is trying to control the situation by breaking her china instead…

A few minutes before the fourth hour bell rang to dismiss the study hall students, Shaun approached me, interrupting my memorizing of lines. Even after my ignoring his presence, he continued to stand in front of my desk, and I hesitantly decided to look up at him.…

The beginning of this song is reminiscent of when Jeannette was three years old and enjoyed moving around the desert. The lyric, “Ah, it's the magical mystery kind”, describes the childish wonderment of a road trip. This was the state of mind for young Jeannette, as her first years were a constant road trip. As this song grows and builds, it can also be a reminder of Jeanette as she grew up and saw her father’s addiction get worse. The lyric, “She got gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be, one turn and I learned what it really means to see”, shows how Jeannette released her childlike state of mind, and began to see the truth about her father’s addiction. This lyric also represents the end of Jeannette’s childhood. With the turn of the “doorknobs”,…

The classroom was bright and colorful. It was like a world of wonder. We hung our backpacks up in the small cubbys and got settle in our seats. Each of the desks had our names on them.
