Were there any evolution in Earth? A famous naturalist, Charles Darwin, had published a book called On the Origin of Species and had his own theory of evolution. The theories that he wrote helped people in this age to understand more about the reasons of variations of creatures in Earth. However, there were some crucial points that Darwin never knew because of the limit of science in the age, that he lived in. Darwin never knew the two types of genes, how finches’ beaks were different, and what the Hox genes are. First, Darwin did not understand the two different types of genes—genes that code for proteins and genes that act as switches. To start with, genes that code for proteins are the genes that make body parts, like hair and muscle. In the genes, there are only four letters—G, C, A, and T—and they determine everything about the body. DNA, which is inside the gene, changes all the time. When the baby is born, the fertilized egg receives half from his or her mother and another half from the father. That is why even siblings look different. Also, DNAs change by mutation, which generates variation. For example, Rock Pocket Mouse in Arizona Desert evolve from a light-colored fur into a darker-colored fur. The reason why is because they need to evolve to a different color, that matches to the …show more content…
He did not understand the difference between genes that code for proteins and genes that act as switches. Also he never knew how finches’ beaks were different and what Hox genes were. However, Darwin’s theories about evolution were the base of the development of understanding the creatures’ evolution. Without those theories, people in today would not be able to come up with the knowledge related to evolution of animals, including humans. There are so much more ideas about evolution that human do not know, and this is people’s responsible to figure out
