Religion is another term for ‘religion,’ let us break down the term religion, re- means to do something over again and the term ligion- means bondage . . . do you really what a relationship or do you bondage? God never enslaves His people in fact He gave us choice whether or not we will serve Him because love is not bondage and that is what religion is bondage. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
John 10: 14-16 explains the difference between the Shepherd and a hired servant. The sheep do no recognize the voice of the hire servant and will run away from danger, however; the Shepherd will give his life for his sheep. Christ explains to us that He is a good Shepherd, He knows us and we know Him because we recognize His voice. Christ did not run away from Calvary, danger, but rather yet, he gave His life for us. Therefore, as the sheep have a ‘relationship’ with the shepherd because they know him and his voice, we who claim we are Christians must have a relationship with the one and true living God hear His voice, obey and keep His commandments, to depart from evil and do
