My Character Mandala is about Lily Owens from The Secret Life of Bees. throughout the story she can easily be represented by many color symbols. In the book she is know to lie to many characters and even considers herself to be good at it shown by this quote “The secret of a good lie is don't overly explain, and throw in one good detail”. This represents the color yellow for dishonesty and deceit. Another color she represents is black which stands for things like mourning and death shown in this quote in the beginning chapters “That night I lay in bed and thought about dying and going to be with my mother in paradise.
