Character Analysis of Ged in Wizard of Earthsea

Wizard of Earthsea Mini Essay Ged, the Sparrowhawk wass the most powerful wizard in Earthsea. He has saved his small town, Ten Alders, when he was still young from the marauding Kargads, but he wasn’t able to save the young son of his friend, Pechvarry, from a fever. Ged showed that he’s selfless and would put his own life in danger to save his loved ones. There are also various similarities and differences in his actions when he was unable to cure a fever as a fully developed wizard, but able to save his whole village as a young and developing teen. There are significant similarities between the two actions. He used his power and magecraft in both of these instances. He also risked his own life to save the lives of the people he loved in these instances the life of his dear friend’s, Pechvarry’s, son Ioeth and the lives of his townspeople.
