Character Analysis Of Scout In To Kill A Mockingbird, By Harper Lee
A characteristic that Scout has is that she is curious. This curiosity stems from her being young, talked down to and not knowing much about the people around her. Scout is interested in knowing more about her mother, so she can feel closer to her. She asks about how her mother looked, how she acted and if she loved her mother. Noticeably, she is curious about her mother and she is looking for a connection between her and herself. Along with being curious scout can also be described as a tough person. A person can be mentally tough, emotionally tough, but in this instance Scout is physically tough. Scout does not take negativity well and as soon as someone says something to offend her she goes after them. When the kids in her school started to say racist slurs about Tom and when they started to make fun of her father she would not take any of their rudeness. Scout would jump right on top of anyone that threatened her or her family and she would begin beat them to a pulp. Although, Scout is more then capable to be tough, she also has innocence. …show more content…
These cruel parts of the world have not had the chance to corrupt her. One night when Tom Robinson was in jail Atticus went to sit out front so no one would bother Tom. Jem, Dill, and Scout wanted to know as to why he would go to the jail so late at night so they followed him. Soon after the kids got there the men in the town showed up to kill Tom. The kids then and went to stand in between the men and Atticus. Because of Scout's innocence she did not understand that the men were there to hurt anyone, so she started a conversation with one of the men; she asked about his kid and how he was doing. Once the man realized that she was just a little innocent girl she told everyone to leave because he did not want anyone to do anything in front of the kids that could take there innocents
