Character Analysis: A Dog's Journey
Throughout the book “A Dog's Journey”, the characters often have different viewpoints of events. This is especially true in this book because the main character is a dog and the majority of the others are people. The events, either good or bad, usually result in a laugh which engages the reader.

One event that occurred in the book was when the main character, a dog named “Molly”, was hidden by her owner, CJ, from CJ’s mother, Gloria, who despises dogs. However, Molly didn’t hide long, quietly making her way out to go find CJ. Gloria and Molly unfortunately crossed paths and an unexpected event occurred. Gloria, never expecting a dog in her house screamed and ended up calling Animal Control.

I knew where she was and also knew she was close by. I quickly hid Molly and told her that we were playing a game. I heard a knock so I hurried down the stairs but, my mom beat me there. I tried to act as casual as possible when my mom was talking to me. I could tell that she knew I was looking a bit suspicious. I noticed that she didn't care very much until she gave me a hug. When we separated she looked at me accusingly. I then heard Molly hopping down the stairs, she ran behind me and I tried to hide her from my mom. That didn't work very well because my mother ended up noticing Molly causing her to scream. I tried to calm her down but nothing worked. I knew she hated dogs, but I loved Molly. My mother ran to the phone and called “Animal Control.” I was very anxious, I didn't want to lose Molly, ever. I tried to stop “Animal Control” from taking my puppy but nothing worked. Eventually they took Molly, but I had to get her back.

Overall, most books share events with different points of view. This particular author writes in a way that reveals a lot about each character. Doing so results in a better understanding of the book as a whole and all of the characters

I genuinely did not expect to learn this much from the book Unbroken. The story of Louie Zamperini was unexpectedly much more understandable and relatable than I first imagined. Seeing the main character was a former war hero, I found it surprising I was able to connect to him as I happen to be fourteen. In my opinion, readers can easily compare similar situations in their life, regardless of their age. A point often overlooked, Louie is a true survivor. He was stranded forty-seven days on a crammed raft, as well as beaten without remorse at a prison camp for two years. Louie was stripped of his friends as he watched them either be transferred or slowly die. He witnessed many accounts of sexual abuse to innocent and helpless animals, as well…

A scene that I disagree on was how Adam handled the situation of getting into the ICU to see how Mia was doing. What Adam did was he and Kim came up with a plan to try and sneak into the ICU by distracting the nurse and security grads. In my opinion what should have been done was since only family members were allowed to visit her Adam could have asked to be watched at all times during the visit by the security grads.A short passage from the book that I found meaningful was when Adam came inside to see Mia; he tried to help her with the decision of staying or leaving. This short passage was significant to me because it led to the development of the theme, love could never be broken apart no matter what the situation is, it will always be there. With the love and support that her boyfriend Adam gave her it made her more…

As well as applying sarcastic charm and hyperbolic language. This is demonstrated when the writer says “I was with her at the end. Thing is, I can`t remember a world without her”. This point consists of exaggerated text to emphasize the point being made that the person could not live without their dog which helps to further involve the reader. The article includes more humour as it progresses, however, as the piece is intended for owners who`s pets had died the writer includes many desensitizing anecdotes to gain the trust of the…

In Toni Cade Bambara’s short story, “The Lesson”, Sylvia is a young, rebellious poverty stricken girl whose attitude towards education is negative. Though portrayed as a strong minded figure in the story, Sylvia’s lack of knowledge of social inequality makes her a cynical character that does not conform to the values of life. In the story, she is confronted with a lesson that changes her perception of the disadvantages the poor has in contrast to the rich.…

A Lesson before Dying is a memorable novel, set in Bayone, Louisiana in the 1940’s, about an uneducated, illiterate black man, Jefferson, who is falsely accused of murder and sentenced to death. She persuades two men, Grant Wiggins and Reverend Ambrose, to visit with Jefferson and teach him what it means to be a man. While both men desire the same outcome, they disagree about what it means to be an educated man. Grant believes that his college degree gives him all the knowledge he needs. Max was my best friend. He was a very lively golden retriever with a golden brown body and a white chest. My father got the dog before I was born, and just when he meets my mom. I remember feeding him table scraps and my mom getting mad because he shouldn’t have table scraps. When I was 3 years old he would snuggle with me before I went to bed, but after I got a bunk bed then he would just sleep on the floor of my room. My sister didn’t really get to see him much because he was still a baby when he had to be put down.…
