Even the smallest, most accidental incident can cause immense consequences; this theme is a representation of the climax in the short story “The Necklace”. Where here you have what you can say as a middle class couple, who were invited to a formal event. Then shown is an ungrateful wife whom believes nothing she has is fit to wear to this event. MME Loisel, miss elegant, fancy, and don’t like the fact that she aint high class.
Mathilde convinced her husband to invest in some new attire so she can look as if they have money. At that moment her husband encouraged her to ask her friend MME Forester for some jewelry for the night. The party is smoore, MME Loisel wore a beautiful nice amazingly nice gown. When the party came to an end, MME and Mr. Loisel noticed that she lost the necklace lent to her by MME Forester. Mr. Loisel then went to retrace their steps to see if he can find the lost necklace. This accidental incident then caused Mr. Loisel to tell his wife, lie to her friend in order to give them some time to replace the necklace. MME Loisel, and Mr. Loisel spent most of their savings to replace the necklace. After returning the necklace the once before housewife had to now work and her husband for many years to replace what turned out to be a fake diamond necklace. Paris during the 1800’s to be exact 1884.
Mathilde one of the pretty and charming girls, she likes fancy things she likes to feel as if she’s miss glamour girl. Mathilde Loisel wants to be a glamour girl but don’t have the money to be one. She's obsessed with glamour – with fancy, beautiful, expensive things, and the life that accompanies them. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't born into a family with the money to make her dream possible. Instead, she gets married to a "little clerk" husband and lives with him in an apartment so it brings tears to her eyes (1) .
