What lead to the focus on operations managements rather than production? To reflect the changed in importance from manufacturing to services, the term production often has been replaced by operations to reflect both goods and services production. Because production management is the term to describe all the activities managers do to help their create goods, while operations management is a specialization area in management that converts or transform resources into goods and services. 4.
