Chapter Analysis: Bug Detective By Maggie Li

For this assignment I have chosen the book Bug Detective by Maggie Li. This book is an informational book aimed at young readers from the ages of 7-10. The book is about various insects including butterflies, beetles, ladybugs, worms, snails, flies, spiders, ants, bees, centipedes, and stick insects. The book is filled with true facts of these insects concerning their environment, what the insects eat, where you can find them, as well as the life cycle of these insects. The illustrations clearly show the animals, how they live, where they live, and show the behavior of these fun creatures! The book does engage the child into the reading and with the illustration encourages the reader to think about the differences between the various insects.
