Changes In Romeo And Juliet

Shakespeare created three characters that fit perfectly within the story of Romeo and Juliet. How did Shakespeare make these characters fit so well? The three characters that Shakespeare used in story to fit so well are Romeo, Juliet, and Mercutio. These characters started off as something in the beginning and then something different in the end. All three of these characters changed tremendously throughout the story. The First Transformation of The Story begins with Romeo. Romeo transforms almost entirely, and in the beginning of the story, all Romeo was a lovebird looking for love! In the beginning, Romeo wouldn’t hurt anybody or any or kill anyone for love, but near the end he would kill anybody for Juliet. Romeo transformation begins around Act 2. Precisely it begins act 2, scene 3, Lines 20-25. In these lines Romeo states that “inside the Little mind of this weak flower, there’s both poison and Powerful medicine” this quote is basically synthesizing that love can be good or evil. What he means by this is that loving Juliet can influence him with pain and hurt but Romeo does not care because all he wants is Juliet’s love. This was my first transformation. In the beginning of the story Mercutio was a laid-back and chill guy. All he wanted to do is have fun and party. He didn’t have any regrets or care about anything. According to act 3 scene 1 lines 102- 104, Mercutio States “A plague o’ both your houses! They have made worms’ out of me!” in this part of the story Mercutio changes from an innocent partying man, to a crazed person who’s accepting death and places a plague on Romeo and Tybalt’s homes.
