INTRODUCTION TO DISTRICT CHAKWAL
Chakwal is a leading District of Potohar Region. Though, it is a Barani district (Annual rainfall around 600 mm), yet it has vast potential for agricultural development. The potential is still unexploited. Agriculture Extension Department, Chakwal is endeavoring to achieve this potential through transfer of technology measures such as training of farming community, lay out of demonstration plots, information on crop production technology, orchards development, plant protection measures, weed control and promotion of agricultural mechanization in district Chakwal through all possible means. Soil Types

Most of the soils in District Chakwal range from silt loam to loam with pH in the range of 7-9. Cropping pattern

It has been seen that the rainfall is more in the year 2013 as compared to the previous years and rainfall is more in February 156 mm which breaks the previous records of rainfall data in district chakwal.

VISIT TO DISTRICT OFFICER AGRICULTURE EXTENSION, CHAKWAL
We reached to district officer agriculture extension at 9:00 am. Where Dr.khalid welcome us warmly. He is working as an agriculture officer. He passed his MSC agronomy in 1996 and PhD in 1999 from agriculture university of Faisalabad. After this he takes introduction from all of us. Then he tell us about the agriculture importance in district chakwal he tell us the main crop grown in this region is groundnut, wheat and chick pea. He tell us that ground nut crop is main growing crop in Rawalpindi division in which 90 percent of this crops grown in the region of chakwal and its main variety which is sown are BARI-2011 and Golden. The production of ground nut in 2012 was 19088.64 Production (tons) growing in the area 80000 acres. Then he tell us about different farmer trainings deliver on wheat and groundnut in the year of 2013
