Chad Clift on the Great Apples Grown in Washington State
Chef Chad Clift appreciates the apple, in all of its many forms. This adoration of the apple comes naturally, as his native state of Washington produces many varieties each year. The state of Washington, in fact, is responsible for more than seventy percent of all of the apple production within the United States. In total, more than four billion pounds of apples are hand picked in Washington each year. During the peak of the season, from August to the November, local grocery stores in Seattle sell as many as ten different apple varieties at once.

On August 20th and 21st of 2016, visitors to the Seattle Street Food Festival will have the opportunity to meet Chef Chad Clift. As a new restaurant owner in the region, Clift is looking forward to mingling with his fellow Seattle food lovers. He is excited for the chance to showcase his culinary talents, and also to try the many dishes that are well loved at the festival.
For the past three years, the Seattle Street Food Festival has brought epicurean genius to the downtown streets of Seattle. Attended by thousands of locals and tourists, the event offers a unique taste of the popular and lesser known restaurants in the city. Created by the Mobile Food Rodeo group, this event is anticipated each year by all who attend.
The vision that inspires the Seattle Street Food Festival resonates with many of the local chefs in the region who do not have the opportunities for large scale advertisement. Small restaurant owners are given a platform to showcase their talents, and tempt the taste buds of the locals.
