The Impact of Cell Phones on our Health
The invention of the cell phone and newer smart technology has brought about many positive uses and entertainment but there are many downsides that aren’t as obvious. Cell phones, no matter how useful, still pose many hazards to our health and such as distracting us from other tasks and affecting our bodies. The everyday use of cell phones has many negative effects on individuals and society.
Cell phones affect people in many physical ways. There have been many studies dedicated to finding if the use of cellphones can lead to cancer. This concept has been proved and disproved through the years as technology has improved and our understanding changes. Recent

What happens if we lose our phone? Day to day life is so heavily reliant on phones and electronics that are becoming harder to perform seemingly simple tasks without them. Another important and most prevalent issue we face when it comes the safety of others is texting and driving. Texting while driving accounts for a major percentage of accidents involving younger drivers. “Research has demonstrated that drivers are well aware of this danger but over 90% of drivers report using a cell phone while driving”( LaVoie ) Texting while driving not only endangers the people in the car but also pedestrians and others on the roads. Cellphones can be a major distraction to multiple people. cellphones are disruptive if they accidentally ring during class. When usine a phone it is easier to forget or loose track of the task at hand such as cooking or doing homework. When people become so focused on texting instead of the task at hand it is not only a danger to them but also to the public. For example if someone driving a car is texting and veers into oncoming traffic they could potentially cause a wreck and injure another person or persons. Because of a lack of Congressional approval, parts of the Patriot Act expired on June 1, 2015. But With the passing of the USA Freedom Act on June 2, 2015 the expired parts were renewed until 2019. However, it was amended to keep the National Security Agency from continuing its mass phone data collection program. The subject of security vs privacy is a heavily debated subject of citizens and government officials. The new technology and apps make things simpler for the consumer but also make personal information less secure and more accessible to identity thieves. This is a concerning and a more common problem that we face wich impacts individuals in a very negative way.
