Cebu Pacific
I'm the kind of woman who'd rather book a hotel stay than buy a gold necklace. I'd choose food in a fancy restaurant over a new pair of shoes. And I'd rather spend thousands for a plane ticket rather than a designer bag! :) But I'm no big spender! Most of the hotel stays, dine-outs and plane tickets were on promotional offers. I think that explains why I went crazy over Cebu Pacific Airline's "You say Dubai, I say Hello" advertisement. Who doesn't love cheap airfares? I was so overjoyed! I told everyone at work about it, shared the ad on my Facebook Timeline and I even sent a message to my mom! –

I just love the slogan of Cebu Pacific – ‘It’s time everyone flies!’ And rightly so. I am very pleased that Cebu Pacific has joined the travel industry with this vision, thereby giving better price points to consumers. Moreover, I am also very pleased that they have and are continually introducing new local and international destinations (to and from Cebu especially). This really helps leverage Philippine tourism locally, as well as internationally. Here's to hoping more budget carriers jump in the wagon in the near future. I, myself, knew nothing of the sale. Currently on night shift, I was supposed to be working from home but then had to transfer to the office, arriving minutes after midnight. I heard my teammate announce that there is a sale but he couldn't get through the overloaded website. Deadma. I was busy with work anyway. Then came 4am. I saw on my Twitter feed that a friend stopped panicking after he was able to book flights. So I tried to open the

Cathay Pacific implemented outsourcing of nonstrategic functions to contractors with their own individual vertical specialization so that Cathay can focus on its core aviation competencies. Outsourcing was bridging gap between the IM department and business side. “Systems development and Support” was changed to “System Delivery” as it started to focus on delivering IT systems to business units rather than writing code and developing applications so that systems can be delivered faster with less cost and reduced risks. Cathay’s networks were outsourced to SITA to provide global linkage among carriers. Sabre Airline Solutions provided software applications and services for the airline industry. IBM Global services managed mainframes and provided systems and asset management in addition to standard technical and recovery services. Data Center operations were outsourced to Australia for cheap real estate rates. Desktop maintenance and management was outsourced to IBM. However, company chose to not outsource maintenance of legacy applications until 2010. Systems Delivery was handled by Cathay to maintain carrier’s applications. IT planning an architecture work remained with Cathay to act as middlemen between suppliers and Cathay employees. It also kept on management of outport workstations with Cathay as it would not improve service level or reduce cost to outsource this.…

The contract was extended to the next 25 years upon passing of the Legislative Franchise in June 22, 1998. This was to serve primary routes, to develop secondary routes and international destinations, for the public’s convenience. Following this was the issuance of the Air Carrier Operating Certificate (ACOC) to operate scheduled and non-scheduled flights.…
