New Vision of Education sensitization may be more effective as the children in their formative years easily absorb values and virtues which are taught at school. Keeping this in perspective, the CBSE has committed itself to Values Education and gender-sensitive education. The schools were also sent an advisory to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week with the theme - `Transparency in Public Procurement'. The activities and event focused on creating awareness to contribute towards producing vigilant citizens for the future. Our country is celebrating Swami Vivekananda's 150th Birth Anniversary. The Board has initiated the Vivekananda Schools of Excellence Awards to honour the schools, teachers and students who have been involved in inculcating the values propagated by Swami Vivekananda. We would like to solicit your help in guiding our students in making positive choices both inside and outside the school, as education gives the power to control one’s destiny. Please maintain the lines of open communication by asking them what they have learnt in school each day and how you can assist them. The effect of educational reforms, policies and innovations are only as good as their implementation, so the onus lies on all of us to stress the importance of accepting these challenges. As a parent myself, I realize that we can be pulled in many directions, but if we work together as a team, we can ensure the success of our children, community, society and the nation as a whole.
