Every country played a specific and prominent role in that lead to the war. Everything seemed to be peaceful in Europe but the spread of nationalism and it impacted in the Balkans the most. Several forces were properly prepared for putting Europe into this “Great War”. Other countries were increasing their expenditures on armaments, and forming alliance systems. The immediate cause of the first world all started in Austria-Hungary and their negligence to let Serbia get back some of their territories. The main causes of World War 1 were Militarism, alliances, imperialism, and Nationalism.

The allied powers were largely formed as a defense due to the aggression from Germany. Germany had declared war on France in 1914 and the French have been long preparing for war after Germany went to war with Russia. On the Eve of World War 1 the alliances systems were the members of the Triple Alliance: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy and the members of the Triple Entente: Great Britain, France, Russia, they contributed by forcing the great powers of Europe to go to war when their allies did. The last cause of World War 1 , European nations began arming to protect their assets , it increased size and strength of military, and it caused Europe to become extremely unstable.
