Causes and effects of being a good student Have you ever thought about the idea, that life is an endless studying process? Newly born child learns how to do simple things, then he starts going to school, after this child is near to become mature person by visiting university, then he faces work routine and so on. Each step of human being’s life is correlated with consuming tons of different information, which usually titled as learning process. Some people succeed in this process, when someone prefers to go along with the stream. The following essay is aimed to show the particular period of modern human being’s life which named as student life. Going narrower, this essay speaks about students who succeeded in their study by showing the possible causes and effects of their success on theirs life. Talking about possible causes there is a need to divide them to three sections. They are social level of a student, personal character and parental pressure. Because of such possible causes there is a need to underline that the main effect is good achievements of the student in his grades which effects in possible success in the life. Let us review first possible cause which is social level of a student. Since any university gives the opportunity to study for wide amount of people, it is the place where different social classes possibly could meet. As the result the policy of almost every university is to give a free opportunity to study for some particular social classes. They are students from families with many children, students with only one parent, etc. But the main condition for such students is to keep particular level of grades, which is pretty high. Therefore such condition is also the main motivator for them to work hard and succeed in the study. The cause lies in the social class but results in students’ study achievements. On process of learning, students or learner is the center of education. Studying their different aspects of a student and their ways on attaining such goals will be of great impotance. As such, the extent of student’s learning in academics may be determined by the grades a student earns for a period of learning. It is believed that a grade is a primary indicator of such learning. If a learner earns high grades it is concluded that they may also have learned a lot while low grades indicate lesser learning. However, many experiences and studies found out that there are also several factors that would account for the grades. No single factor can be definitely pointed out as predicting grades. It has been interplay of so many factors – gender, daily allowance, social status, time and interest. In fact, almost all of existing environmental and personal factors are a variable of academic performance. Measuring of academic performance of students is challenging since student performance is a product of socio-economic, psychological and environmental factors. However, base on Bradley's (1978) hypothesis that the individual are motivated to take credit for their successes and to deny responsibility for their failures in order to protect or enhance their self-esteem. Hence Bradley notes that students’ rating is a function of both their attitude and the interaction between them and their teachers. This may be in the sense as suggested by Meighan (1978) that the students perceived teaching as more important than learning and teachers' activity as more central than pupils'.
