First, many people sleep late at night because they are working on their unfinished assignments, projects or reports. For example, a bank manager is staying up late to go over the day’s financial reports, a teenager is busy typing his final assignment which was due two days ago, and a primary school student is putting together a science presentation on PowerPoint. The effect of staying up late and sleeping late at night is that the person will have no energy on the next day. For example, many people find it difficult to be energetic in the morning, and would often need coffee and cigarettes to stay awake in the day. Also, many school children have no energy to do physical things in the morning. For example, I would always be very slow and unhappy during my physical education class because I was so tired in the mornings.
