The Cause & Effect Of Lying

I believe that under no circumstances should lying be acceptable. I was raised and brought up in a household that didn't tolerate lying at all. I do -understand that people have their reasons, but lying always holds something negative. While lying might seem like an easy way out, it actually puts you in more trouble than you were in to begin with. It never solves the problem, it just makes it worse. For some reason people believe that their lies will never come to the surface; and in some cases they don't. Consistently lying seems to be an easy way out for them. They continue to lie until their once small white lie turns into a huge uncontrollable mess. When this happens the truth arises, and you find yourself in ten times the amount of trouble you were in before trying to lie your way out. People need to understand, for every action there's a reaction Each and every day, we make the same choice thousands of times whether to lie or tell the truth, and this often happens without us really thinking about it. When you lie you have already put yourself in an unfavorable position, Should your lie be discovered you are in an even worse position then you were in before. Even the tiniest white lie can cost you money, impact your relationships, and affect your choices. For example, You told a lie to a friend which was seemingly miniscule, your friend on the other hand doesn't see the lie as something small and takes it seriously. As a result you lose the trust and approval of a close friend over something you see as small. Lying does not benefit in the end.

Neverthaless we are human. We make complicated choices and decisions everyday that wear us down. We may come up with lies that seem necessary, but in the long run aren't necessary at all. As i said before were only human, but when we make it a habit a problem arises. Do not lie out of politeness, or to preserve your own

The dictionary defines a lie as, “a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.” However, while the intent of a lie is to deceive, that deceit is not always intended to cause detriment to others. Lies can be told for justifiable reasons such as to protect the feelings of others, but more often lies are told for the wrong reasons. For example, lies are mostly told to avoid the consequences of one’s actions such as with criminal activities and academic misconduct. When comparing acceptable and unacceptable reasons to lie, the unacceptable reasons greatly outnumber the acceptable.…

Lies have been around for as long as people have been. We all lie, whether it is to protect someone we love of to cover up something we don’t want others to know about, it is still lying, and we all do it everyday. Lying has become the new normal for our modern society, so much so, that some of us have lost our morals completely. It is just so much easier and quicker to just lie to someone than to tell the truth, and now you can never tell who is lying to you or who is telling the truth. People use to have morals about lying and many people would feel bad about it and teach their children to never lie, but now in today’s society they just pop out of our mouths like they're nothing. We will never stop lying because it’s easier to live a lie than it is to tell the truth, because the truth might come with consequences, but so does lying.…

    Effects of Lying

Human beings have one thing in common – we all lie. Many of us like to think of ourselves as honest individuals, but what we do not realise is that there are many occasions when we will resort to lying, whether we are aware of it or not. Lying has become a part of our social behaviour such that most of us often think it is okay to do so, without weighing the consequences of our actions. True to what we think, lying can be acceptable, but it depends on the circumstances. There are many reasons for lying: We lie mainly because we want to avoid something from happening, or we are afraid of something; we lie as a joke, for deceptive gains and even sometimes, to protect the people around us. This is especially so when we think that telling those people the “truth” may hurt them, thus we tend to hide the truth by telling them a white lie in order to preserve the relationship. In this case, the lie is often seen as harmless, though it may not necessarily be acceptable to the person being lied at, as some people just prefer the truth, no matter how much it may hurt. There are other forms of lies and what defines a lie is anything that is not the whole truth. Thus, people may lie unconsciously either because they cannot recall the entire truth, or because they think that some information are not necessary and can be omitted. The severity of the consequences for telling lies differs, depending on the type of lie, but these consequences are usually negative.…

People may lie a couple times, but that doesn’t make them are liar. Your lying depends on the situation that you encounter. Some people think that lying is the worst thing; and on the contrast other people think that sometimes it would be necessary to lie. Lying can be acceptable on the situation, if there good intention behind it .For instance, if you think that I am giving my friend a moral to make him happy, then that kind of lying would be appropriate and acceptable. Wouldn’t be embarrassed for you if your teachers know that you are liar and if they don’t even trust you? When people are younger, they lie to their family and their friends. First off let me start of by saying that we lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we leave out things, we avoid confrontation, we try to be inconsideration of other people feelings, we conveniently forget some aspects of the truth and even keep secrets. Like most people, I find myself in situations of small falsehoods and still think of my self of an honest person. Sure I lie, but it’s not really bothering anyone or anything.…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Honesty not always being the best policy is showed in The Scarlet Letter, “Tell All The Truth” poem, the “He Lies” video,…

Lies have powerful effects on all of us based on the lecture “The Truth about Lying” by Judith Viorst. At an early age, I found out that lies could change our opinion about the people that lie to us and their credibility. It is not necessary to lie since if we feel that the truth might hurt the other person, a polite silence should suffice.…

Being raised in the Capitalist system based on competition, we were taught that it was fine to tell lie. Some argued that it was fine to lie when it is a death and live matter, others may argue that it is o.k to lie if it doesn't hurt any one. On my personal level, I don't feel it is morally comfortable to lie to anyone. Because of the society we live in is filled with lies and mistrust doesn't mean we, as the newest generation should learn to lie. Instead, I want to live in a lie free life.…

We have all lied at some time or another in our life. As a child, we may have lied so we would not get in trouble. As adults, we may lie to avoid disagreements with someone, so we can maintain a healthy relationship with that person. We teach children that it is wrong to lie; however lying comes natural for us, and we all lie whenever it is convenient. These kinds of lies are ‘white lies’. They are harmless lies if mentioned with the right purpose. People lie to loved ones more than anyone else. It is easier to lie to a loved one more than anyone else, because telling the truth might be more painful than a lie. Some people are better liars than others. When a person becomes habituated with lying, it becomes a problem. When Lies are told for no reason at all, it can cause a significant deal of stress in your life. Most of us have heard the words pathological liar which describes a person who is more than just a liar but also extremely dishonest. .…
