Extroverts and Introverts
According to different psychological theories, humans have various types of personality. These orientations vary along a single continuum. Depending on one’s activity you are either introvert or extrovert. In common usage, Introverts are utmost interested in one’s own psychic content or subjective world. Meanwhile, extroverts are concerned with obtaining satisfaction from outside the self or objective world. Solitary activities like reading, writing, and playing video games are wholly introverted. But, extroverts tend to take pleasure of parties, concerts, and social gatherings. The three major differences of two mentioned orientation, extroverts and introverts, are; behaviour, feeling, and sociality.
Extroverts and introverts have many behavioural differences. According to psychologists’ researches, introverts often appear thoughtful, quiet and reserved, whereas extroverts are open and talkative. Therefore, extrovert can easily adapt to a group or make lots of friends compared to an introvert. Besides, extroverts tend to wear decorative cloths, whereas introverts prefer wearing comfortable and formal cloths. One’s personality also influences how he arranges or décors the living room or area. Introverts will design his room or office to discourage social interactions, while extrovert does the vice versa. Moreover, extroverts prefer the upbeat and conventional music than introverts. Most important, extraverts are likely to react to pleasant effects, like positive reward or celebrations.
Beside to the mentioned difference, extroverts and introverts feel differently toward different situation. Overall, extroverts require less positive reinforcement in order to feel pleasant. In fact, extroverts are happy if they are excited, interested, rewarded, or proud of something and pleasantness is significantly correlated with extroverts. But, introverts are not likely to exhibit their happiness, in other words, introverts show low arousal when feeling happy. Therefore, extrovert may underestimate the intensity of happiness exhibited by an introvert. For example, introverts fell relaxed and content when they feel happy. On the other hand, Extroverts often engage in gathering when they feel same as introvert. Introverts do like to socialize, but in a different manner than extroverts; means, introverts aren’t shy or anti-social. Extroverts dislike loneliness, they; go to parties, engage in debates, go shopping. Indeed, they love to participate in social gatherings. Introverts like loneliness and can’t enjoy from gatherings. They get pleasure from solitary activities; individual sports, reading ones’ favorite novel, or cleaning the garden. Hence, it would be hard enough to engage an introvert to a small talk or make shallow debates. In conclusion, human have very complicated attitude. They either enjoy engaging in gathering, or enjoy being inspired by one’s own mental; concept, idea and thoughts. Extroversion and Introversion vary along a single continuum. You are an extrovert or introvert, depending on the direction of your activity; behavior, feeling, and sociality that are different from each other. Whether, you are an extrovert or an introvert, you shouldn’t think wrong, especially extroverts, about each other. Introverts are well concentrated, and they posses and rich imaginations. Therefore, most of scientists and creative are introverts.
