1. ¿Qué beneficios tiene CEMEX y los otros competidores globales del cemento, derivados o provenientes de la globalización? ¿Cómo pueden las actividades cross-border agregar valor en una industria, aparentemente local, como es el cemento?

2. ¿Cómo específicamente se ha manejado CEMEX para superar a los competidores globales líderes en la industria de cemento?.Enfocarse en comparar ésta con Holderbank, quién es el otro gran competidor orientado principalmente al cemento. ¿Qué sugiere esta comparación y la otra información disponible en los anexos (exhibits) 4-8 acerca del juego competitivo realizado entre los mayores competidores internacionales?

3. ¿Qué recomendaciones haría usted a CEMEX en relación a la estrategia de globalización que está siguiendo? En particular, ¿en qué clases de países debería enfocarse en su futura expansión?.

4. ¿Qué se puede señalar en relación a la secuencia de cómo CEMEX ha ingresado en los mercados extranjeros? ¿Cómo se comparan los mercados en los cuáles ha ingresado recientemente con aquellos en los cuáles ingresó temprana o anteriormente?

En términos generales, la globalización permite a los participantes de diferentes industrias acceder a potenciales beneficios, el capitalizar estos beneficios dependerá exclusivamente de la capacidad de cada uno de los participantes de realizar actividades cross-border que generen valor en esta industria.

Debido a que se tiene acceso a un mercado más amplio con mayores potenciales beneficios, los participantes de la industria se deben concentrar en realizar diferentes actividades destacados a continuación pueden ser capitalizados mediante las siguientes actividades:
