It is the year 2325 and hundreds of years beyond the time of dominance the United States of America. This once super power is now just part of the North American Empire. While doing and archeological dig in the mid eastern area of the empire we discovered a time capsule from the 1960s. This time capsule had five things that were enclosed represented very important parts of that decade to the American people. Those five things were a Moon rock, an audio recording of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream Speech”, a banner that read “Women’s Liberation”, an LSD Drop, and the dress…

There were four pieces of history that really jumped out at me and I liked being able to look at. First was a dugout canoe, it was made from pine and carbon dating tells that it was made sometime between 1430 and 1660. The canoe was found buried in the sand on the shore of Lake Ossipee, although it is not a whole canoe, it is amazing to see how simple they were at one point in time. Second was Katharine W. Pecker’s wedding dress from 1882, she wore it when she married future governor Frank W. Rollins. Behind the dress is also an image of Katharine wearing it, you get to not only look at the dress but see the original owner in it too. The other two things that were interesting to me was a snowmobile from 1972 and a giant eagle statue from 1818 that was in the middle of the wall on the first landing of the stairs to go…

On July 1st, 2011, I attended my first campout at Camp Raven Knob, which was a six-day Boy Scout camp at a location in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. When we reached Camp Raven Knob, we were told to choose a tent in the order of highest rank. Since the upper-ranked scouts picked what they wanted first, a couple of younger scouts and I were left to choose a less appealing tent. Luckily, a young scout boldly requested me to tent with him. If I had not agreed to tent with him, I would not have been as courageous as I am today. He inspired me to break out of my comfort zone and become a more sociable person. That following week, I came back to Troop 244 with the motivation to encourage others to be brave, helpful, and generous. I gained more insight and contributed it back to…

As a cadette, The Girl Scout Silver Award is one of the most important things to achieve in my life. This is an important step to help me build leadership and organization. My purpose for this project is to raise awareness for problems in the world, and maybe even discover solutions for them. Raising awareness isn’t just about educating people of what the things are, but on how you earn them as well as how you can stop yourself from getting such.…

Scouting has had a tremendous effect on my life since I first started as a Cub Scout. Principles of honor, respect, and responsibility were introduced to me and then developed further through Boy Scouts. These themes have benefited me up to now and will continue to assist me in the future. The next five years of my life will include high school and the start of college. Throughout scouting, I have learned that it is up to me to do the merit badges and complete my part through self-discipline. Self-discipline will keep me focused and attentive with my schoolwork in high school and in college. I am able to distinguish the time for completing my class work and time to be with my friends. I also have been able to develop my ability in communicating…

The theme of this year’s girls camp was “Walk Like A Princess, Stand Like Royalty” As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints it is important for us to remember who we are and be examples of Christ; in everything that we do, in everything that we say, and everywhere we go. At girls camp we got to hike the Mount Timpooneke Trail which is a trail that winds around the mountain side and around the back of Mount Timpanogos, at the end of the hike we ended at the top of a ledge and had a gorgeous view of the entire valley. We would stop at certain spots along the way where a camp leader would be and they would teach us about one of the young women values. My favorite stop was the station taught by Alexa Blikenstaff and Sister McFaddien they taught us about the value Divine Nature. They shared a story of King Louis XVI that goes like this “As a young man, he was kidnapped by evil men who had dethroned his father, the…

Its as easy as a snap shot. Shutterfly has made great marketing decisions through-out the years. No matter the year they were always moving ahead of the technology of their time. With not many digital cameras flouting around and internet at slow dial-up connections, Shutterfly were allowing the upload of “digital images to order prints from a web-based company.” This was new to people even with rabbit speed broadband. Always looking forward, Shutterfly now have become a “major force in the online photo-printing industry.”…

    1. Cross the chasm: In general, Adobe made PostScript and PDF free to general users in order to spread out the influence. As these technologies were truly helpful and needed to the customers, gradually they became the de facto standards in the industries. By then, when the third party wanted to work with the users, they had to purchase the license; or for users who wanted more functions, they had to purchase full version of product. That was when Adobe started to make money. More specifically, PostScript provided an interface between a computer program and an output device. Adobe targeted the graphic art community and the publishing industries, where this product was highly needed. The PostScript page description language was introduced freely to software developers and then was licensed to the printer manufactures that wanted to print those documents. By a successful alliance with other firms, Adobe built a system of products, and thereafter more and more people started to use it. And as PostScript became standard, the revenue of company grew dramatically. As for PDF, Adobe made it a universal format for users to convert electronic document into. As internet exploded, Adobe quickly switched their target to the internet users and made Acrobat Reader free to them. This action helped intensely to spread PDF forms. With its easy accessibility and some alliance with AOL and several computer vendors, PDF became popular and widely used for posting and exchanging documents on Internet. And as people needed more functions like creating PDF, they could purchase the full Acrobat product. That was when the sales started to grow up and the company started to make money.…

In every achievement there are always be trial that comes with in, just like the other fields and careers. Software engineering was spurred by the so-called software crisis of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, which identified many of the problems of software development. The capability to design quality software and implement modern information systems is at the core of economic growth in the 21st century. Nevertheless, exploiting this potential is only possible when adequate human resources are available and when modern software engineering methods and tools are used. The recent years have witnessed rapid evolution of software engineering methodologies, including the creation of new platforms and tools which aim to shorten the software design process, raise its quality and cut down its costs. This evolution is made possible through ever-increasing knowledge of software design strategies as well as through improvements in system design and code testing procedures. These systems, in turn, call for new, innovative distributed software design and implementation technologies1. With the history of miseries of low reliability and delayed schedule of software development, we have been studying the importance of readability, maintainability, extensibility and so on. The fact that software life-cycle is transmigratory prevents from applying a single technology to improve the overall software quality. The rapid expansion of the IT world invites new comers in software development community. Web technology has been invented as a tool for information retrieving. Recently, so many systems including enterprise systems whose reliability is very important have…
