The District of Columbia, the capital of the united states carries many structures that depict the history of the country. Monuments that tell of a person’s achievements or government facilities built long ago that are still in use, these are examples of Dc’s landmarks. The landmarks communicate a lot of the US’s history to viewers with how they are used or maintained.

The White House has been present in the US since 1800, being the living quarters and office of most operations for the current president. After being set aflame by the British in the war of 1812, the White House has been rebuilt and upgraded multiple times since then. The Washington Monument has also been under construction with repairs and upgrades multiple times,

The county is home to the eleventh largest city in the state of Indiana and the third largest university in the state. With the area having such a large footprint on the rest of the state, the next part to understand is how Delaware County became what it is today. The lasting impacts the community has had on millions of people throughout the last 200 years have been thanks in part to a massive expansion in population, infrastructure, and industry. Those expansions started with a boom of the economy in the middle to late 1800s due to the discovery of natural gas in east central Indiana.
