Case Study: R15 Vet Staff
I was introduced to several VAWS at the office, which appeared to be very happy in their role. R15 Vet Staff are all very pleased by way C.J. is running that program, result and help is noticeable, in addition that that job is detailed, responsible and there are no volunteers, or a person that will do it as well. Edward work in fine note with C.J in regards to that program, (yesterday and today assigned a big list of Vet s missing POC pulled from EFM) and they were already working on it when I arrived.

Since my first interaction with C. J. and rough beginning, I have to admit that he was one of the first team members responding on time, fastest and with results, beside Edward.
I believe the assignment with VAWS gave him the opportunity to build the team and feel valuable.

I told C.J., that I will communicate with my upper management and will send him a follow up email, reflecting our communication from yesterday and future directives.

I will go with C.J. to be present when he apologizes to Keith and will explain the importance of VAWS program to Keith myself and to thank him for his service, but I would also like to honor our DVOP’s, who was open to acknowledge what was communicated during our counseling session, his plea to keep this additional duty

In the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010-2014 VA Strategic Plan, then VA Secretary Eric Shinseki identified three principles to guide the agency into the 21st Century; 1) to be people centric, 2) results driven, and 3) forward looking. Subsequently, the FY 2014-2020 Strategic Plan built on these guiding principles and further defined VA’s mission. Since that time, the agency has undergone significant transformation in these areas. Building on these guiding principles, in July 2015, Secretary Robert McDonald introduced the MyVA Integrated Plan (MIP). The MIP focuses on giving Veterans greater control over provided services, modernizing VA by focusing on the organizational culture, processes and capabilities with the intent of providing “a…

Since the terror attacks of 9-11, approximately 2.6 million men and women have voluntarily served in our nation’s Armed Forces. As these service members compete their time in uniform and attempt to re-enter civil society and find gainful employment, too many are not succeeding. A Pew Research Center study in December, 2011 indicates that post 9-11 period veterans are reporting more difficulties in returning to civilian life than those who served in Vietnam or the Korean/World War II era. Most find themselves unequipped to successfully navigate the enormous psychological implications of such a dramatic change in self-identity and the unfamiliar challenges of finding…

The Veterans Administration is known not by the exceptional care and service they provide, but by the outrageously high numbers of suicide and death to service members waiting to be seen and treated through their facilities. We see brave Americans risking their life and limbs to defend this country only to return home to a flawed healthcare system. Since the beginning of the Second Gulf War, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has seen a surge of veterans coming in to seek help physically, and mentally. Even with the startup of the crisis hotline, a 24-hour support line, 22 veterans are committing suicide each day across the states. I want to find out if the crisis line is even effective. Also if this suicide rate has stayed its…
