1. Information about the case: In this particular case, the complaint stated that two special education teachers mishandled money collected from students and parents that were to be used for CBI (Community Based Instruction) trips. The educator admitted to collecting and disbursing money and did not initially turn it in to the bookkeeper. There were also no records kept of the money that was collected or spent. Also, the educators admitted that they confused money with personal accounts. In reviewing the case, I think additional information would be useful, such as knowing if the parents were aware of how the funds were being utilized (covering costs that typically came out of pocket) or if the teachers were given permission by the parents to hold onto the money to use for future CBI trips.

Consider the various participants: The people that should be interested in this case should include the parents, school administrators, and the teachers and/or paraprofessionals in the classroom. Since it appears that there was no intentional wrongdoing by the teachers, the administrators are probably understanding of both sides of this particular situation. However, the parents are going to want to know where their money went. It indicated that a lunch costs between $5 and $6. As for the teachers and/or paraprofessionals in this particular classroom, there is an understanding they mishandled the situation; however, they do not believe there is any intentional wrongdoing. They only used the funds given to them for classroom materials and purposes. With the information provided, I am not sure if all facts have been adequately communicated to all parties involved. I think parents have the right to more detailed information about how the money was spent by the teacher, such as supplying
