I am writing this letter to complain regarding mismanagement of TMC staff (4th Floor Station) with regards to my father, PORFIRIO M. OCCENA, SR., 84 y/o who was rushed by my relatives here in The Medical City, morning of 11 October 2012 due to slurring of words and (L) body weakness. He was later admitted at ACSU 3 under the service of DRA. MARIAN ALMAJAR. He was referred to DR. EDMUNDO SANIEL who after or five days cleared my father neurowise. Although cleared by Dr. SANIEL, we still had to stay because my father was referred to DRA. LYDIA LUA because of pneumonia.

At present my father is in room 451(4th Floor Station) where all the incidents happened. 1. When my father’s NGT clogged due to omeprazole tablet which was not fully crushed and liquefied. NGT was re-inserted by an intern (Dr. Bongit?) assisted by nurse Mike. While observing re-insertion of NGT, I saw the doctor putting stethoscope on my father’s tummy to check if NGT was placed correctly, I saw that he gave an okey sign to the nurse, and if I remembered it right the nurse also re-checked if it was in place coz he also put the stethoscope on my father’s tummy, then using a tube he poured the liquid medicine to my father’s NGT. Upon pouring it I was surprised and confused on my father’s reaction, knowing him to be very cooperative, his face turned so red, very angry and giving me sign to pull the NGT out. On that instance I quickly told nurse Mike that there was something wrong with the inserted NGT, true enough I saw the coiled NGT on my father’s throat. This happened last 25 October 2012. Before the incident happened, I know my father’s condition has improved well, but after the incidence plegms recurred and another antibiotic was given. 2. Happened 28 October 2012, when I saw nurse Jian putting otic drops on my father’s (L) eye, I asked her, “what was that you dropping on my father’s

One of the biggest problems today is misinformation. People pass judgments towards others without being properly informed and I think that it is extremely important for students to be exposed to all different cultures. Since I have done my student teaching in the last few years I actually was surprised at how much the students cultures were influenced by the assignments. Although the cultural teachings are not extremely expressed in the curriculum it is up to the teacher to fit it in to the lessons. I feel that at any time that a teacher can incorporate the student’s home lives and cultural practices they should. This helps not only the other students to gain knowledge about other student’s cultures and values, but it also helps the teachers to understand things that they may not know about.…
