PART A (10 Marks) 1. What is meant by equality before law and equal protection of law? Explain. 2. Do you agree with the view that Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy constitute the ‘Core and Conscience’ of the Indian Constitution? Comment on the emerging trends in their interrelationship. 3. Explain the main principles embodied in the Preamble to the Constitution of India. What is their significance? Do you think they are the political horoscope of the country? Discuss. 4. (a) “The Iaw of contract is not the whole law of agreements, nor is it the whole law of obligations.” Discuss.
(b) What tests would you apply to ascertain whether an agreement is a contract? 5. Under the Indian Contract Act, there are “certain relations resembling those created by a contract”. Explain giving illustrations. 6. Raj sees a book displayed in a shelf of a book shop with a price tag of Rs. 350. Raj tenders Rs. 350 on the counter and asks for the book. The book seller refuses to sell saying that the book has already been sold to someone else and does not have another copy of that book in the stock. Is the book seller bound to sell the book to Raj? 7. Case Study on Contract Act given for class presentation.
