Case Analysis: The 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers
The 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers is known as one of the best football teams in NFL history. This was a very scary team with a very crucial defense and a very elite offense. This insanely talented team was run by Chuck Noll. Chuck Noll won 4 Super bowls from 1969-1991. Noll began his head coaching career with Terry Bradshaw and Joe Greene on his football team. On defense there was the Steel Curtain, which consisted of Mean Joe Greene, Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, and L.C Greenwood. Only Joe Greene and L.C Greenwood were pro bowlers. Also, on defense was Jack Lambert at middle linebacker alongside of Jack Ham. Both linebackers were pro bowlers. And in the secondary there was Mel Blount. Also, a pro bowler.

Mel Blount’s crucial closeline hits were announced illegal after some of his hits, but he continued to make the ball carrier miserable. Jack Lambert became popular from his hard hitting and his fights with his opponents. And, with Joe Greene it was nearly impossible to block him, he was so explosive off the ball. Greene had control up front, Lambert had control with the linebackers, and Mel Blount had control in the secondary.

Their offense wasn’t as scary as their defense, but they did have some playmakers in Swann, Bradshaw, and Harris. This team having the best defense without a doubt that season and a playmaking offense, they would become

After three seasons the Chip Kelly experiment is over in Philadelphia. It’s no question that the Eagles’ roster is worse now than it was three years ago when Kelly took the helm, and the results on the field back that up. Each season the team averaged fewer points per game and yards per play, while the number turnovers increased. Greene quickly discovered he had little natural talent for catching baseballs and decided basketball involved too much running. As an eighth-grader he played on the junior varsity football team and fell in love with the game. Later, he also threw the discus and shot put in track, winning a state championship. As a sophomore at Dunbar, an all-black secondary school in Temple, Greene turned into the starting middle linebacker. In eighth grade, Greene had weighed 158 pounds; by his senior year, he weighed 250 pounds. In spite of the fact that he was viewed as large for a linebacker, Greene cherished the position. As he enhanced, his certainty both on and off the field bloomed. His occasionally excessively forceful identity earned him a notoriety for being a messy player, and he was shot out from various diversions. However, to Greene, football was war, and he was resolved to battle until the very end. In spite of Greene's individual gifts on the field, the Dunbar Panthers had just a fair record, and he was not vigorously enlisted by universities. His alternatives were further constrained in light of the fact that the Southwest Conference was still…
