Carry Nation
Carry Nation contributed a lot in history. She did many things to help and get the country to where it is today. Many things helped motivate her and prepare her for the big position she was in which caused her to have many contributions and accomplishments for not only her and her family, but the country as well.
Motivation
Many things inspired and motivated Nation to keep going and achieve her goals. For example, she was motivated to create the Temperance Movement because of her distressed past with her childhood and both husbands. “Cyclone Carry had a good reason to hate liquor, for it had ruined her first marriage and killed the only man she ever loved” (“THE TIME MACHINE,”

Preparation
There were many things Nation did to prepare her for her role in today’s history. She took part in many settings and events and also helped lead them. For example, “In the spring of
1900, always supported by ‘visions’ of her divinely infallible mission, her activities spread

Nation brought violence wherever alcohol was. She made it such a big priority to do everything in her power to abolish it. In addition, “In Wichita she wrecked the Hotel Carey and other expensive saloons, smashing mirrors, windows, bars, panelling, pornographic paintings, and liquor stocks valued at thousands of dollars” (“Carry Amelia Moore Nation, 1936”). In the article, “Carry from Kansas became a Nation all unto herself” it says, “Carry, at the time a figure whose glowering physiognomy was recognized on the streets of New York by public and press alike-began wandering around Madison Square Garden searching for more affronts to her sensibility. As she did so, she gathered an entourage of bemused onlookers as well as the New
York Press” (“Carry from Kansas, 1989”).
