Caribbean Community (CARICOM)
CARICOM was established to encourage the region’s development. Its main purposes are to promote economic integration and cooperation among its members, to ensure that the benefits of integration are equitably shared, and to coordinate foreign policy.
Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME)
The CSME is designed to represent a single ‘economic space’ where people, goods, services and capital can move freely. The main objectives of the CSME are: full use of labour (full employment) and full exploitation of the other factors of production (natural resources and capital); competitive production leading to greater variety and quantity of products and services to trade with other countries. It is expected that these objectives will in turn provide improved standards of living and work and sustained economic development.
Caribbean Development Bank (CDB)
This is a financial institution that has been established by Caribbean nations. The major aim of the bank is to provide funding for economic activities in the region. The bank administers loans programmes for funding agencies. The loans assist member states with activities associated with tourism, health and education, and agriculture, among other areas.
World Bank
The World Bank provides aid for developing countries to develop their economies through loans and technical assistance. It also grant reconstruction loans to war devastated countries, providing loans to governments for agricultural, irrigation, power, transport, water supply, educations and health.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF)
Its major purpose is to provide short-term lending to countries that are experiencing balance of payments problems by providing foreign currency needed to pay for goods and services. It also promotes orderly adjustment of exchange rates and advising member countries on economic, monetary and technical matter.

This helps accelerate economic and social
