For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work in an office environment, around computers and other professional peers. I enjoy working with computers mainly because they are very interesting and you can learn a lot of things by working with them. I like to surf the net, to create scrapbook pages, and do all my banking and personal finances on my computer. My friends and family call me the “Computer Guru” because I have taught them most everything they know about a computer. I first started using computers about nine years ago in my eighth grade year of school. I was taking a class in school that involved me using a computer. My freshman year in High School I took keyboarding so that I could get more practice on my typing. It also taught me how to create title pages, and various other papers. I have taught most of my family everything they know about computers, so I decided to go back to school for a degree in Administrative Assistant. Therefore this paper is going to be on a career interest of mine. My career interest is Secretaries also known as an Administrative Assistant. Let me start by asking you a question. About one secretary in six works in part time positions and many others work in temporary positions. Secretaries and administrative assistants should be well skilled in keyboarding, such as knowing how to type more than 25 words per minute and should also know their way around a keyboard.
