Career Interest
My Three Highest Career Interest Areas During class I was assigned to take a test that informed me of what careers that would best suit me in the future. My three highest career interest areas are: Humanitarian, Artistic, and Leading-Influencing. Humanitarian and Artistic are at a two-way tie following close by is Leading-Influencing. All these areas help people in some shape, way or form. My aspiration in life has always been to help people. Before I took the career interest test, I automatically knew what interest area I would score the highest in. It was in the humanitarian category. In this career interest area it states that it helps individuals with their mental social, spiritual, and vocational concerns. The careers that support those needs are nurses, social workers, and therapists.
To be a nurse, they need to graduate from an approved nursing program and obtain a nursing license and pass the national nursing examination. This requires at least 4 years of education. Once they complete their education they can become a nurse and perform the duties they learned. The duties are to write down the symptoms, watch for improvements, help physicians, give out medication, offer physiological support and maintain sterile supplies. In this type of field it is necessary for them to have excellent diagnostic skills, develop trust with the patient, and to understand the functions and vital processes of the human body. Their starting salary rate is $39,000. If a nurse decides to transfer into a different line of work, they may become a therapist with extra schooling because they still require the same amount skills, such as, offering physiological support to the patient. Throughout the search for a career, I realized that nursing corresponded to my personality. I would like this career because I would like to gain more knowledge in a field of my interest and to obtain financial security. I feel I will be successful in nursing because it is a profession that I

My first and highest interest is homelessness and housing. I find myself passionate about wanting to give homeless or underprivileged individuals and/or families a fresh start. Nothing beats connecting individuals to the right resources, watching them take control back over their lives, and striving to reach their fullest potential. A newer area of interest I have is international social work. I keep finding myself drawn to global poverty and the affects poverty has on the individuals and/or families such as little to no schooling, poor health, high disease rates, starvation, and war. Ultimately, I am interested in helping restore dignity within these individuals and communities by advocacy and through breaking down development barriers.…

Though the specialities differ, one similarity is evident in all—they all give back to their respective community. Noticeably, my interests would alter throughout the years; I knew that I wanted to care for others, but I did not know how. I knew that I wanted to have an occupation that was interactive, but I did not know which. Granted, as high school was coming to a close more and more relatives became interested or invested in my educational aspirations; for instance, my grandmother was eager to persuade me to become a doctor in order to heal her aching back. One of those relatives would contribute a suggestion that…
