Before starting this project I knew very little about what it takes to be a professional DJ, so while I work on this project I will be learning new skills and how to manage a DJ business. My mentor is known to the DJ community as DJ Outlaw; he has been a DJ for the last twenty years and has done over 3,000 gigs. He also has a valid Federal Communication of Commerce license (FCC License). He owns his own DJ business…

All children are required to graduate high school, but pursuing higher education is only recommended. While high school curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education, students learn essential career readiness skills while enrolling in higher education classes. Since students are not obliged to pursue higher education, many students who decide not to continue their education lack the skills necessary for future careers. While some schools hope to implement career readiness for either all their students or for only the students who do not wish to pursue college, other schools do not want to offer career readiness programs as they believe that it offers incentives for students not to attend college. Schools should require all students to take career readiness classes as…

One of the hardest experiences for me was having two shoulder surgeries in high school. Although it may not sound very traumatizing now, two surgeries meant that my cheerleading career of 14 years was over. When something that was such a big part of your life for so long is taken away in the blink of an eye, it feels like your whole world is crashing down! My senior year was exceptionally hard for me considering I was trying to make the perfect decision on my future college, my father was traveling 2 hours for work each week, and I was trying to recover from a right and left shoulder surgery. These surgeries prevented me from trying out of the cheer team as a fourth year member and it left me devastated. At the time, I was concerned about regaining…

I started working at Samsung call center as a full time employee. The job had excellent benefits, and room for growth and advancement. While I was working there I thought it was what I wanted, but as time progressed I realized it may not be for me. My decision at the time was to work full time and remain productive with that. Sometime you have to make a few changes within in yourself in order to grow as a person.
