If you don’t have this certain skill and you came some where and someone passed out, you will need to know how to perform this, if not they could die. I feel that learning CPR could benefit all and this is a major skill to know. If you are in the medical field or mostly anywhere now it is required that you be certified to work there. By me knowing it I could have well just saved my patients life but on the other hand if I didn’t I would feel bad because there was nothing I could do but call 911. So knowing this skill will very much come handy in day to day living. Let me tell you a little more about CPR. CPR or Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is when a doctor or rescuer breathes into someone’s mouth and presses on the person’s chest. Cardio means “of the heart” and pulmonary means “of the lungs.” Resuscitation is a medical word that means “to revive”- or bring back to life. The rescuer puts his or her mouth over the other person’s open mouth and blows, forcing air into the lungs. (Ideally the rescuer will use a

Patients who are not likely to benefit from CPR include people who have cancer that has spread, people whose kidneys don't work well, people who need a lot of help with daily activities, or people who have severe infections such as pneumonia that require hospitalization. If you already have one or more of these conditions, you should discuss your wishes about CPR with your doctor, either in the doctor's office or when you go to the hospital. It's best to do this early, before you are very sick and are considered unable to make your own…

The three skills I chose are social perceptiveness, monitoring, and critical thinking. Social perceptiveness is being mindful of the reactions other people have and understanding the reasons for those reactions (Occupational Information Network [O*NET], 2016). I use social perceptiveness whenever I interact with other people and try to demonstrate this skill by paying attention their behaviors, body language, and other subtle distinctions. My interaction is authentic and open, while also trying to convey understanding through my own behaviors and communication. Monitoring is assessing/monitoring my own performance, as well as others or the organization as a whole, and then correcting or improving that performance as needed (O*NET, 2016). Monitoring…

The skills I find to be the most important in life and education are the following, and why they are important. Organization is a very important skill to have. It allows you to be more efficient and get more work done in less time. You’re able to find things that you want, it also helps when you want to impress someone. Time Management is the ability to separate the important from the unimportant, which is a much needed skill in all walks of life, especially where there are ever increasing opportunities and distractions. Problem- solving is where we all have to make decisions. Whether you 're a student, a parent, a businessperson, or the president of the United States, you face problems every day that need solving. Relationship networking in a world dominated by constant innovation and information exchange, relationship networking creates the channel through which ideas and information flow, and in which new ideas are shared, discussed and perfected. A large relationship network, carefully cultivated, can be leveraged to meet the right people, find jobs, build businesses, learn about new trends, spread ideas, etc. Self- Discipline is the ability to focus and overcome distractions. It involves acting according to what you think instead of how you feel in the moment. It often requires sacrificing the pleasure and thrill for what matters most in life. Therefore it is self-discipline that drives you to succeed in the long-term.…

(_Merriam-Webster 's Third New International Dictionary Unabridged,_ http://www.mwu.eb.com.ezproxy.apollolibrary.com/mwu) There are so many skills that people should master to make life richer, more meaningful, or simply easier.
