Capitalism Vs Communism Research Paper
Comparing two different economic systems can be the most difficult thing. Especially when talking about Capitalism and Communism. The only goal both economic system share is to strive and meet the needs of the people. From my knowledge taught in my economic class and the many documents I have viewed. I will be showing how each economic try to meet the needs of the people and how successful they are at doing this. When discussing Capitalism many people believe it is a system for the rich to get richer and the poor get poorer. It is so much more than that. Capitalism is an economic system where the belief is based on individual rights. Capitalism strive to meet the needs of the people by allowing consumers to have a free market and little government influence in the economy. Allowing products to be produced at an reasonable price. Capitalism meeting the needs of the people can be seen in four major ways; private property rights, voluntary exchange, profit motive, and competition. In a communism economic the attempts to meet the needs of the people are providing a job, a home, and free healthcare care. Also attempting to divide wealth and economic opportunity equally. In a communism economic factors of production are controlled directly by the government. Everybody in included in the commonwealth there is no difference between the rich and the poor. Allowing the poor to catch up have a financial and social status. In order for everyone to have equality everyone is paid the same, no matter what job you do.Communism tends to work on personal desire rather than economic needs.     What is communism? It is the total interference; total control of the government, there is one government that controls everything, and it works through the central economy system. Property is owned by the state, businesses are owned by the state. A communism empire has no free market system, everything is dictated, workers are given fixed wages and are told what to make. Communist government has a government league that decides what needs to be build and how much. Every enterprise has quota to fulfill. These enterprises are never private, however the wealth is distributed equally to everyone, everyone is considered equal. So-called focus is on the progress of the community as a whole. Government provides health care and education, however it controls media and press. Freedom of speech does not exist. Basic ideology of a communist government is that people are equal and people need each other, when people work equally that is when greater things are achieved. No one should have more than another, everyone’s needs are equal and government should make sure that those needs are met. Communist governments have never been able to be successful because the economy falls; there is no incentive for the people to work. As no matter what quality of work people put in, good or bad, they are going to get paid as long as they are meeting their monthly or yearly quotas. Also the fact that everyone gets paid equally, and that enterprises are not owned privately allows no room for development or greater achievements.     Communism is a form of socialism. It puts control of all property into the hands of the government directly. The results have been impressive: over 100 million people killed in the last century. Communism is the bloodiest form of government ever conceived. It enslaves the entire population, and rules through fear. Because it destroys property rights, it makes the production of wealth almost impossible. Since the use of one's mind is no longer a method of creating wealth, communism has only one method of production: Through hard physical labor. Since the population gets an equal share of the wealth produced, there is virtually no incentive to produce, since one's effort is of negligible benefit. To compensate for this, the government must intimidate and force the people into working hard. Since self-interest is eliminated as a motivation for production, it is replaced by its cruder sort of self-interest in the form of fear of death. The government slaughters citizens to keep the rest in line. This is encouraged because the government policies are failures. Communism is supposed to produce limitless wealth, making all of its citizens happy and rich. But with the ability to produce impaired, the success never happens. To distract the population from its failure, the government must blame it on others. And anyone guilty enough of harming everyone in society should be killed of course.
