On Friday, Mar 30, I took part in the Cantabile Girls' Choir Concert, which was performed by Nancy Grundahl, Sandra Enstrom, Jennifer wildeson, etc. It has several parts and all the performers have done very well. The whole concert was really an enjoyment to me. All the performers concentrated on the performance. I think very highly of them.
The first part is Festival Chorus. They have organized very well. There are a lot of kids sing on the stage. All the songs are well prepared; everyone performs different parts in a song. All of them mix in a perfect way, it sounds much more professional. Sometimes cadence, while sometimes is melodious. I really enjoy them. The audiences give a shower of applause to all the singers. This first part is a really good start of the entire concert.
All the performers are emotionally involved with the music and able to project their feelings to the audience. The music delivered in an artistically convincing way. We are all eager to go on to the next part of the concert.
Then the second part of the concert is Cantabile Choristers Choir. There are fewer members perform on the stage, just some kids sing on the stage, and the rest sit on the floor. They have performed in a perfect way as well. All the audiences are really attracted. Their perform style must be fascination. They perform in the style of professional. All the audiences think very highly of them.
After that, it still has six more parts, which are also very wonderful; all the performers make us lost ourselves in the beautiful music.
This concert gives me a good chance to get access to the new style of the music. I think it is a very exciting concert. All the performers are highly emotional act in the concert. Also the type of music attracts me a lot. I wish I could take part concert like this again.

On Friday, December 6th, I attended the Sac State Vocal Jazz Ensembles. The show began with special guests Christian Brothers Vocal Jazz. This young group of singers were extremely talented for their age. They held their harmonies and expressed their talents in each piece they performed. It was quite impressive and heartwarming because these students looked so into the music that it showed the passion they have for singing and vocal jazz. The same tune would get caught in your ear, then it was moving you faster or slower; as well as that tune getting louder or softer at appropriate intervals coinciding with the dramas taking place. I also noticed a few woodwind and harp solos during the brighter, happier moments of the performance. The use of castanets and tambourines also caught my eyes and ears. Of course, there was tremendous use of varying the pitch and tempo as well as how loud or soft the music was. Again this is all to enhance how the emotion was conveyed to the audience. Each choir was singing a different piece by John Rutter. In our choir there were about 8 different choirs that came together for this. The HCCYC was the only choir that included any middle schoolers, but since I skipped first grade, I was the only eleven-year-old on the stage throughout the entire performance. The concert started at eight-o'clock that night and we were the first act. We walk out of stage and everything hits us all at once. The entire venue is absolutely gorgeous, even more so when it is filled up with people. Everyone gets into their places, and Mr. Rutter had us pull out our music, and he started the orchestra. The entire room filled with the gorgeous sounds of the brass, woodwind, strings, and the heavy pounding of the percussion. We start to sing this glorious piece, and that feeling right then is one I will never forget. We all became so overwhelmed with the beauty of the music and it was simply a night to remember.
