Cancer Argumentative Essay
Cancer is not just a disease that leads to rapid multiplication of cells. Cancer is a terror that rends families and plans apart. It siphons away money, time, and energy. It leaves families and dreams as husks of themselves.
It has made attaining my goals sometimes just outside of my reach: happy evenings with my family are interrupted by the sound of puking from the bathroom; a good night’s sleep wrenched away by sitting through countless seizures; and college goals are blocked by medical bills and loans.
This scholarship would be one small notch forward, not in curing cancer, but in allowing me to negate the effects it has had on my childhood and aiding me in moving towards my goals.
