(hence forth referred to as Canada Goose) they make that misconception a part of their “national identity” (Canada Goose Inc., 2015). In 1950, Sam Tick founded Metro Sportswear Ltd. in Toronto, ON. It has since transitioned to Canada Goose Inc. and has become internationally known as a leading manufacturer of “extreme weather outerwear” (Canada Goose Inc., 2015). Canada Goose is considered one of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies and were ranking 102 on the 2014 PROFIT 500 list (PROFIT Guide, 2014). In 2013, the company consisted of 538 employees with an annual revenue range of 100-249.9 million dollars, CAD. The…

As we discussed above, the important role of the JCPenny new marketing strategy is the new pricing model, which give the lower everyday price and month-long values to the consumers. So their new pricing position is focusing on better price-value relationship. Also, they hold promotion on the first and third Fridays of each month, which is the new name for clearance, or the lowest price you'll ever see for a particular item. Secondly, brands are actually the products to department stores like JCPenny. The improvement of brands is refer to improve their products, as Wahlstrom described, J.C. One of their strengths is partnerships/films. One of the best ways to grow a company is to promote and advertise the product. Partnering with a celebrity or a well-known organization is a great way to spread word about a product/company. Canada Goose partnered with Lance Mackey, who is a famous sled-racer in Alaska. Partnering with Lance is important because his career involves working in low temperatures. Having Lance promote a warm jacket shows customers that he is able to work in the cold because of his jacket. Canada Goose also partnered with Polar Bear International where all proceeds of jackets specifically made for this organization went towards helping Polar Bears. With two-thirds of the world’s polar bears living in Canada, Canada Goose joins forces with Polar Bears International. (Canadagoose.com) It is important when owning a business to try to attract customers to the product. Customers buy these specific jackets because they know that all proceeds will go to a polar bear in need. Not only are they donating proceeds to help polar bears but they are receiving a warm winter jacket. Another strength for Canada Goose is expanding to Europe and North America. The brand's first two standalone stores are set to launch in New York and Toronto later this year. In an online interview with the Standard he said: "I can't imagine that we won't open a place in London.” (Jonathon P., 2016) Expanding a company…

JC Penney was once a fashion icon to children, young adults, and teens. Beginning in 1913 it currently operates over 1000 stores. Growing up my sister and I waited to go through their catalogue. We would circle everything we wanted. We would even get our hair cut the same way some of their models did. I went as far as crimping my hair because the model had her hair crimped. Every summer before school started my Grandma would take us shopping at Penney’s for new school clothes. This company is near and dear to my heart. However, even though it has been operating for 100 years it has started failing.…

I would give the brand an excellent score of 9 on a 1 to 10 scale of brand strength. Through proper brand management, the company has been able to establish an aura of exclusivity around the brand – this is even more impressive when you consider that the brand had initially started out as a utilitarian brand, nowhere close to high end, luxury jacket manufacturers out there. By effectively using marketing tools, Canada Goose has indeed now become more of a status symbol for many and the demand for these sought after products has always outstripped supply by a mile.…
