Group has following major Strategic Business Units (SBU):

1) The Boiler & Heater Group,
Thermax's largest business division provides equipment and solutions for generating steam and power – waste heat recovery systems, boilers fired on oil/gas/coal/biomass and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG). The Group also offers fired heaters for various applications. Among the major products offered are waste heat recovery boilers, waste-to-energy boilers, AFBC boiler, CFBC boiler, travelling grate boiler, engine exhaust gas boiler, heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and API-type fired heaters. The equipment supplied caters to various process applications in the petrochemical, refinery, power utility, steel, fertilizer, cement, sugar and other sectors.

2) Cooling Group
Thermax is one of the leaders in vapour absorption cooling systems. Thermax chillers are extensively used worldwide for process cooling and air conditioning. Cooling business offers an extensive range of chillers that use steam, hot water, exhaust gases and other fuels. Specialised applications such as inlet air-cooling with Thermax chillers are improving output and productivity in power, petrochemical and power industries. Thermax chillers integrate well with efficient energy setups such as cogeneration and combined heating, cooling and power (CHPC) systems. As they do not use harmful refrigerants like CFCs, these eco-friendly systems are the natural choice for green energy planners.

3) Power Group
Thermax offers a range of solutions addressing the electrical power requirements of industry in growing economies: captive plants and cogeneration systems for industry and independent power plants in the utility space.

Thermax has a portfolio of about 50 (executed and under execution) power/cogeneration projects totalling over 1300 MW on turnkey (EPC) basis for its clients. This turnkey methodology coupled with an in-depth understanding of over 100 different fuels enables it to commission fast track power plants with wide fuel flexibility and assured performance standards.
