Evolution of enterprise resource planning (ERP) (E.M.Shebab et al, 2004): Stand in the market mrp was expanded with costing and marketing and named this as MRPII. The main purpose of this MRPII is to combine the activities like marketing, production, finance, personnel, purchasing and engineering. In mid 1990s the Erp came to existence and overcome all the back office and front-office functions like human resource management, order management warehousing, quality control, financial management and asset management, e-commerce, supply chain management, sales force and marketing automation. In earlier days the ERP is based on the main frame computers which are connected to client server era to internet era. 2.2. Vendors of ERP: {draw:frame} Advantages: Enterprise resource planning integrates all functions i.e. marketing management, financial, supply chain, material management, human resource management, sales and distribution, etc. Enterprise resource planning helps to increase the sales and to reduce procurement cost, i.e. for high profitability. ERP helps for tracking the status between purchases, inventory receipts and costing. ERP improves customer service. ERP avoids data redundancy.
