Multimedia sediment process
Stage 1-5 y The water first passes through the 1st stage which makes up of a course gravel that traps solid particles of about 100 micron y Consists of sand filters that removes sediment of 100 micron ratings and up y Consists of gravel sand that eliminates solid particles of 200 micron and up y Consists of fine clear slit that eliminates solid particles down to 50 micron and up

Raw Materials

Water conditioning and softening process
Stage 11-17 y Makes use of resin beads that attract mineral contents that convert hard water to soft water y Makes use of ion exchange beads to condition water by extracting the organic and inorganic chemicals present in the water y Makes use of fine gravel that serves as a sieve which eliminates any residue that might come out during regeneration time. Reverse osmosis
Stage18
y It is the most important system in any water filtration and purification process. This makes use of reverse osmosis equipment which has semi-permeable membrane that only allows pure water to pass through and pushes the unpure water out of the system to the reverse side or the reject drain line.
Polishing process
Stage 19 y Includes one (1) big blue housing that consists of a carbon cartridge that serves as a polishing stage to make the water crystal clear and shiny
Anti-microbial process
Stage 20 y This stage eliminates cyst micro-organism that has a micron rating of
1 and has a very thick cell wall where UV light sometimes cannot penetrate; however a micron rating of 0.5 will eliminate such kind of micro -organisms. Cyst causes diarrhea and gastro enteritis.
Water sterilization process
Stage 21 y This last and final stage is the second most important system in a water filtration and purification system. This is the stage that kills all microorganisms and other diseases causing bacteria from infiltrating into the product water, thereby assuring a safe and pure water.

To achieve this goal, the plant has initiated tours of their facilities, allowing key members of society, such as parents, Girls Scouts, and elected officials to watch and experience the purification process. The pilot facility must also prove themselves by providing water cleaner than current standards. To do this, many AWPF have established four levels of purification. The first level, microfiltration, is a water purification process by which water is sent through tubes at high pressure. These tubes contain 9,000 fibers, each with microscopic pores to filter bacteria from the water. The next step, reverse osmosis, is depicted as a more accurate, precise version of microfiltration where the water is sent through even more fibers with smaller pores. This stage eliminates even smaller chemicals and bacteria. Ensuing, Ultraviolet oxidation occurs when water is mixed with hydrogen peroxide and exposed to ultraviolet rays. This creates a chemical reaction that destroys residual chemical elements. The final level of purification is called ozone disinfection. This procedure introduces ozone into the water. The ozone then exterminates any remaining molecules. The article displays all four steps and their functions in a detailed reference…

    Lactation Business Plan

Breastfeeding is not only a lifestyle choice but also an important health care choice. Any amount of time that a mother can do it will help both her and the baby. Many benefits of breast milk are noted for mothers, babies, and others. Breast milk has disease-fighting cells called antibodies that help protect infants from germs, illness, and even SIDS. Infant formula cannot match the perfect chemical composition of human milk, specifically the cells, hormones, and antibodies that fight disease. The private practice of lactation consultants has increased over the last decade. According to the CDC (2006), the rates of breastfeeding have slightly increased. Healthy People objectives for breastfeeding in early postpartum period, at six months, and 12 months are 75%, 50%, and 25%, respectively. Healthy People 2010 objectives for exclusive breastfeeding through three and six months of age are 40% and 17%, respectively. National data on exclusive breastfeeding are available only from respondents interviewed after 2005 and thus are not available for children born prior to 2003. The Private Practice of Lactation Consultants (PPLC) will provide care and assistance to any mother who is breastfeeding regardless of financial ability to pay. The need for lactation consultants outside of the hospital settings are need for the long-term care of mothers who choose to breastfeed for longer than the initial newborn period. Problems with breastfeeding tend to appear as the child grows and milk production changes. Many mothers will stop breastfeeding when problems arise because they do not have a specific health care professional to turn to for assistance. Pediatricians need to support mothers during breastfeeding by collaborating with independent lactation consultants…

According to National Geographic News only 10% of the big fish in the ocean are left (2003). Many fishermen disagree with this figure and say their fishing hauls have not been affected. Environmentalists say that if something is not done to halt the mass fishing industry many species will become extinct. Fishermen say that if their industry is halted in any way it will affect jobs and the communities that depend on the fishing industry. One way to help quell this growing problem faced by both sides is to develop a sustainability plan that both sides can benefit.…
