Business Management Quiz 2
Subject: 7 Success Criteria Implementing CRM

Introduction
Ulama Motor Unit Company (UMUC) is an organization that specializes in the supply of AC / DC motors and generators. These devices are usually requested for use in critical laboratory, pharmaceutical, and medical machinery across the globe. Recently, the company has successfully developed an 800hp single phase DC motor that is more energy efficient. The company has also decided to market and sell their motors directly to machine manufactures rather than going through traditional distributor channels.
As a result, business has skyrocketed and the company has now expanded to five factories that are located in Malaysia and the Philippines. Headquartered in Portland, OR, UMUC also has two new small R&D facilities where research is conducted to increase the hp of the single phase motors. Additionally, there are over 1100 company employees including managers, supervisors, sales personnel, engineers, factory line workers, etc. IT resources are overwrought and future goals are not attainable. The desire to reduce IT costs and improve business productivity is a major concern for UMUC. Their primary focus is to consolidate business practices, processes, and procedures that are not consistent between UMUC headquarters, the two small R&D facilities, and its five factory locations.
The need for an Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a critical instrument for venture efficiency in short-, mid- and long-terms. EA impacts the effect of UMUC’s business operational processes, their cost and associated risks– the key factors for company efficiency even at tough times.

An Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) provides principles and practices for creating and using the architecture description of a system. Frameworks are used to help organizations answer specific question. Enterprise Architecture framework importance is de-emphasized deliberately sometimes. Without a framework though, it is impossible to have foreseeable and repeatable outcomes. There are many EA frameworks out there. However, the four leading ones are The Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOFAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture, and Gartner Enterprise Architecture Framework. These methodologies are quite different from each other, both in goals and in approach. Many organizations use a blend of these methodologies to find a great framework for the goals they are trying to accomplish. The Enterprise Architecture framework I will be covering is Zachman Framework. I choose this framework due to it being the one all other framework are compared too. John Zachman's framework for information systems architecture has been widely discussed since its publication in the IBM Systems Journal in 1987(Evernden,1999) .…
