Unit 3: Developing and managing resources in the lifelong learning sector.
The reason we have resources for learning is to enhance the whole process for all learners and make it an enjoyable and effective experience. Also by having multiple resources this will benefit a variety of different learners as not everyone will prefer powerpoint for example. Sometimes the use of resources will change the attitude I receive as a instructor. Im fully aware that not all learners are going to feel in the right mind set to learn if their either too tired or maybe having trouble concentrating or absorbing information. Also like many years ago it measured guns it is now being used to measure the distance between ranks when on parade. It also helps to indicate who is in charge on a parade square. I think this traditional resource instills discipline amongst the students which is one vital element of our military core values. It also gives inspiration to students as many always ask what they need to do to become a drill instructor.
I believe the Pace stick and the metronomes are ideal resources to aid inclusive learning as they set a baseline for each student to understand before developing each of their individual skills on drill. Also the evidence we have to this is the outstanding precision, which is shown on parades such as Trooping the Color and the Edinburgh Tattoo.
Smart board. A smart board is an interactive whiteboard, which enhances your lessons by creating visual stimulation to the students. This has developed over the years from becoming a simple whiteboard to an outstanding piece of equipment which saves time and delivers amazing lessons all at the touch of a button. The Smart board has a multiple number of uses, which would help inclusive practice, but because of its wide variety you should take care not to introduce to many at once to over stimulate the student. There are many translations that imply resources are bound by either copyright, patency, trademarks etc. We as teachers must adhere to the law to ensure our lessons are to the necessary standard prior to them being delivered to the students.
Intellectual property rights refer to a design or creation that any individual has created and documented down in a way such as music, inventions or lyrics. As the owner of the work you have created you naturally inherit certain rights dependant on the nature of the work you have thought of. I think this is a fair and rewarding process to the inventor. It also gives an incentive for others to put there ideas forward to gain a money to cover the purchasing of any research or resources they would have had to buy.
