His job is to source and distribute petroleum products along with handling things like invoices and billing.
Mike’s career started when he finished high school here in Marathon. Once finishing high school, he attended North Central Technical Institute to take agriculture mechanics’ classes. After attending NTCI, he joined the U.S. Army’s wheeled vehicle school and electronic repair classes. Once completing the classes he became enlisted into the military as a mechanic and traveled around the world fixing Army machinery. After serving in the Army, he decided to go back to school for business. He attended night school through Mount Senario College in Ladysmith for different classes for business administration through to mid 1980’s. For our first interview, Jenn Tracy of General Mills and I spoke on the phone for a little over half an hour. Mrs. Tracy and I had a very interesting conversation about life, work, and balance. To start off the interview, I asked her questions about her background in an effort to get to know her better and possibly better understand her answers to my questions later on. Through my questions I learned that Mrs. Tracy spent four years at MSU-Mankato for her undergrad. She is also married, has two younger kids, and absolutely loves to spend her free time being outside.…

For my informational Interview, I had the opportunity to sit with Keith Peterson of Smith Hayes to learn a little bit more about what it is like to work for a wealth management firm. Keith and I connected after he and a couple of his peers from the Lincoln Young Professionals Group gave a presentation on the importance of establishing a professional network in my BSAD 222 class. After this panel presentation I took a chance and establish a connection with Keith and I Ultimately chose to interview him for my informational interview. One of the main reason that I chose to interview Keith is due to the fact that I am interested in a career in the financial industry. For my personal interview I interviewed Patrick McDougal a counselor at a PTSD group for veterans. I meet him when I had to drive my grandpa to the weekly meet up. When I first saw McDougal I thought he was one of the group members. I was a little taken back when my grandpa introduced me he looked like he was one of the guys. I picked him due to the fact his personality made it easy for me to talk to him and how long he had been in the profession a total of twenty-five years. He was happy that I asked him to be my personal interviewee for my research project. We agreed to meet at four o clock on Saturday at the Starbucks right by the college there weren’t that many people in there and I think the barista’s had a fun time overhearing our conversations.…
