Bus 210 SWOT Analysis
The business plan I chose was a racing parts services business plan titled Auto Parts Business Plan. This business plan is very well thought out and provides much strength. The owners have 30 years of experience in the industry combined and have all the knowledge of daily operations for a racing business. The industry motorsports has been fast growing and has over 1.5 billion in annual sales. The business model is very well developed and researched. The plan provides breakdowns of what capital is needed to start-up, maintain the business, and provides an anticipated growth plan for the next three years. The owners also researched the location and that there has been a 25% increase in population growth in the last decade. Furthermore a new kart racing company will be opening across the street from them. I feel the company has a sound mission statement and has put much thought into how to go about achieving the goals stated in the mission statement. I think this business will attract many clients as the owner intends to be active in the industry, form partnerships with local businesses, and offer discounts to clients of partnering businesses.
I feel the market segments are accurately targeted. The price the organization will charge for the services they intend to offer will meet this segment’s budget, and there is definitely a need for quality parts The Company has ideal plans for marketing their services. They have several marketing strategies from print ads, press releases, decals, apparel, and grand opening and racecar sponsorship. They will also have a catalog that they will give away in the store, personally hand out at race events. They will have some challenges the first year with being a small start up. With just them two running the company and trying to do everything. I think they should hire a part time employee who is an active racer and that can bring in more customers and free up some time for the owners to concentrate on growing the business.

Although ADP (Automatic Data Processing) is one of the leading providers of business outsourcing solutions, it has weaknesses that negatively affect the company. One significant aspect of ADP is that the company has clients in many foreign countries, but less than only 20% of ADP’s revenues come from other regions of the world. The company has been majorly focusing on customers’ needs here in the US, keeping their clients up to date with the current laws and regulations (their HR department) and making payroll processing convenient. What they lack, though, is a diversified geographic. It’s important to concentrate on the US operations, but other countries have specific issues that may need to be handled differently. If ADP wants to expand and take full advantage of their services, they ought to pay more attention to their geographic diversification.…

IndyCar has seen growth year over year since they have merged the CART and IRL series racing into one league. They have strong sponsors that appear will want to resign or other sponsors will fill that gap quickly. They have a new CEO that is promoting the IndyCar Series and pairing it with multiple brands and also putting into a kid’s movie that is sure to bring awareness among young crowds. On the other hand they are having a hard time finding funding for races in China that had to be cancelled and Baltimore that had to change promoters. I think if they are exploring the right markets and not holding onto or seeking empty markets they will have no trouble finding places to hold races.…

Although Scott has been presented with an impressive opportunity, I would not recommend that Scott and his wife invest in this company at this time. I do recommend, however, that Scott find a knowledgeable partner to share the expense of the business purchase and upgrades. The investment into the business not only provides the partners with a solid product, but upgrades, product developments and a directed marketing campaign will provide the business with significant growth.…

They are stationed in-between residential housing and social activities that could contribute to their long term growth and success. The company’s ownership isn’t under much noted people and so we aren’t really able to determine how effect they will be able to run the business. I also believe that they are leaning on the need of having a loan to start the company to much and may not be able to repay it in a timely manner. The plan is to make profit within the two year mark but that is also only how long their lease is on the building that they are planning on having their business in. Competition will also be tough for this venture because they will be competing against top name stores that are known throughout Texas. The products and services they will be offering can sell really easy and are a wide enough variety to sell but should be targeted at a much wider audience. The ventures projected sales and profits seem like this company has high hopes and will prosper in the selected area. However, this seems highly unlikely to me with the limited amount of time that they are giving themselves with a profit in two years and not having the lease lasting any longer than two years. Competitors are…
