Bullying Short Essay
Bullying Suicide has become the third leading cause of death among youth between the ages of 12-18 years old (Education). Every thirty minutes a teen attempts suicide due to bullying (Risk-within-Research). About forty-seven students are bullied every 5 minutes. (Risk-within-research). Bullying has always been a problem, but it’s becoming more common. Many students know someone who is a bully or has been bullied. Teens who suffer from bullying are at a higher risk to consider attempting to take their life (Education). Bullying is a problem sign a pledge and stand up. Selected schools offer pledges to stand up against bullying. Signing a pledge and following through can help save a life, even if it’s just inviting someone to sit with you at lunch or giving someone a compliment. Towards the end of the video you see multiple people with the words “I stand up” written on their hands. This is an example of logical evidence because we have stood up and signed the pledge due to being bullied or seen someone being a victim of bullying. Will you sign the pledge? Throughout the video you see a child getting bullied, this is a form of PATHOS because you see him hurting emotionally and physically, you feel bad for him. “Seventy one percent of students report bullying as an ongoing problem” said by Tony Bartoli (risk-within-reason). This is the D in drapes. In the video you can see that the problem is ongoing. Males are more likely to physically bully others and take their own lives(Education). Females tend to engage in socially bullying, they are also more likely to have self-harming thoughts and have symptoms of depression (Education). Girls are less likely to attempt to take their own lives than males (Education). You can make a change, sign a pledge, and stand up to bullying. Be that one person to impact a person’s life. They will never be able to forget you. You saved them.

I even stood up to someone who was being teased about who they chose to love as a romantic partner, because I know how defenseless someone can be in that position. Of course after doing so that girl tried to spread rumors about me, but that didn't stop me. However, as a senior, there's nothing I can do now to grow awareness to girl-to-girl bullying. But when I graduate college, I'll use my new skills to create games or shows that with grab the attention of all ages to open the awareness. Our generation is growing in technology as well as the demand in games and shows. If my creations become popular enough it may help kids and adults see the importance of anti-bullying, and maybe even show the bullies that what they do is not just a joke to laugh at with their friends, or a way to vent off their own issues. Winning this scholarship can definitely help my funds to do so, but I don't mind getting it or not. I just thought it'd be a nice way to share my story and how I plan to stop it. Bullying is a traumatic issue schools are having in today’s society. Sometimes a bully will act the way they do because they have problems going on at home or are just acting out. Boy’s and younger middle school students are most likely to be bullied (Santrock, 2013). Children who say they are bullied tend to be lonely and have difficulty making friends, while the bully has low grades, smoke cigarettes, and drink alcohol (Santrock, 2013). Researchers have found that anxious, socially withdrawn, and aggressive children are often the victims of bullying situations (Santrock, 2013). Anxious and socially withdrawn children are usually bullied because they are not conceived as a threat and will not retaliate, while aggressive children will be bullied because their behavior may be irritating to the bully (Santrock, 2013).…
