Bullying Mentally Disabled People Research Paper
Bullying mentally disabled people is a huge issue. Both children and adults are victims to this problem. Rebecca Parkin is a seventeen year old year who has been bullied since she was six. She was very shy and hardly talked to anyone which made her an "easy victim". High school was the worst for her. She was called fat, crazy, weird, stupid, and ugly. Some people even tried to set her hair on fire. A boy even told her that after school he was going to kill her. She started to cause harm to herself and needed help from mental health services, because the bullying was getting out of hand. Things started to get better for her when she spoke up for herself and others in her position. Now she is making an effort to stop bullying by being an anti-bullying campaigner with Ambitious about Autism, NSPCC, and Ditch the Label.
Bullying people with mental disabilities is getting out of hand. People have gone so far as to try to set their hair on fire and tell them they were going to kill them. We should be concerned about this, because they are people too no matter if they have a disability or not. The people being bullied are affected and their families. Some of them get bullied so much they start inflicting harm on themselves. They have been physically assaulted as well as being called names. Maxine Young is twenty

One of them is speaking up for yourself or for the person being bullied. A lot of the time if you stand up for them the bully will stop. They can talk to teachers to see ways that they can support them. People with disabilities need to be recognized as who they are and the values they have not for their disability first. Their parents, teachers, and friends can encourage them. They cannot get through the bullying without some help so if you have a friend with a disability stick up for them and help them overcome the bullying. If you do nothing to help them their problem will not change but only get
